Biles took a two-year break from the sport after the Tokyo 2020 Olympics to prioritise her mental health, but emphatically returned in 2023 with four gold medals at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Belgium.

Biles is honoured to have won the award, “Thank you to the academy for this prestigious award. I am so honoured, it is unbelievable every time I am nominated for the award I cant thank you enough.”
